Hannah and Simon pre-wedding shoot

I had a great time with Hannah and Simon in Chester on Sunday.

Hannah and Simon, get married on the 5th of June in Chester Catherdral and will be celebrating at the amazing Grosvenor Hotel and Spa.

This picture was take late in the day, just as it was starting to get very cold, but they humoured me a while longer and we got some great pictures.

Can’t wait for the main event, it is going to be epic!

I want your brides and grooms

I’m very proud of the wedding service I offer and my photography but don’t take my word for it, please take a minute to look at my wedding portfolio.

Assuming you like what you see, I’m going to offer you an extra incentive to tell couples, planning on getting married this year or next, about my work.

All you have to do is pass on my details and I’ll give you £50 in cash, or a free on-location portrait photography session, IF they book their wedding photography through me.

Whether or not you use the reward to treat yourself or spread the joy is entirely up to you.

There’s just a few conditions for the incentive offer:

  1. The on-location portrait session can take place anywhere in Lancashire, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.
  2. The on-location portrait session can not be exchanged for the cash equivalent.

Win a portrait shoot!

Not content with offering reduced price portrait sessions in April, I’ve decided to give one of them away in a competition.

The prize is a 2 hour on-location portrait session, including a free print pack, anywhere in Lancashire, Merseyside or Greater Manchester and must be taken in May this year (2010).

To enter the competition all you have to do is one or both of the following:

On-location portrait shoots half price during April!

That’s right, no joke, I’m offering on-location portrait shoots, booked during April, for £75. That’s half the original £150 price!

My on-location portrait shoots are very laid back and everyone i’ve taken out, without exception, so far has really enjoyed the experience.

The photoshoots can take place anywhere in Lancashire, Greater Manchester or Liverpool and include all travel expenses.

Even when I’m not working I obsess about photography so, more often than not, I always have a camera with me to capture moments like this.

This picture was taken in Waterhead, near Ambleside (Lake District – Cumbria) which has to be one of the best places to watch the sun go down especially when viewed from the Wateredge Inn, on the edge of lake Windermere, with a cold beer!

Gift Vouchers

I recently added a new section to my website devoted to my clients.

The new section of the website can be accessed by clicking on the “clients” menu option and features the following options.

Access gallery

This is used to view the pictures from your wedding or portrait shoot, so you can choose your favourites, share with friends / family and immediately order from a broad range of products.

There’s literally something for everyone in the range of prints, mounts, canvases, acrylics, frames, albums, DVD’s and, something I’m very excited about, automatic digital downloads! 

Most of the products have either quantity or value discounts so the more you buy the more you get. And, all purchases are subject to an ”early bird” discount for anyone ordering within 2 weeks of the gallery being published.

Redeem credit

This option is used to redeem credits for free or pre-paid products (usually included in my wedding or portrait packages). Once redeemed the credit is added to your shopping basket and you can then select pictures to link to the products included.

Accessory store

This option is used to purchase products, or services, not directly linked to pictures and includes gift vouchers, wedding and portrait packages.

Gift registry

This option allows you to create your own registry, for weddings or anything else you can think of, so your friends and family can add money to your account.  

When you create a registry you will be given a unique registry code. Anyone wanting to put money on your account can access the registry and search for your account with either the code or your email address. They can then pay using the checkout and leave a message for you. You will be automatically informed of any payments by email and will be able to view all purchases, and the total credit balance, when you access the registry.

I’m really excited about the new features and I know my clients will really benefit from using them. If you know of anyone getting married, or planning a celebration, in the next few please let them know about the Gift Registry.

Graduates at the Co-operative

I used to work in the Co-operative Group a long time ago so going back there recently, as a photographer (I used to work in IT), felt familiar yet strange.

My assignment for the day was to take a range of pictures of their Graduate trainees for use on the web, newsletters and magazines.

The “Grads” were a great bunch to work with; they were all enthusiastic and loved working for the Co-operative.

As a general note, I am in the process of developing my commercial portfolio, aimed mainly at the editorial and advertising markets, so if you’re interested or have any leads please get in touch.

Angela and Karl pre-wedding shoot

On Sunday I had the pleasure of Angela and Karl’s company for a pre-wedding shoot at Towneley Hall in Burnley.

They make a great couple and when I could get them to stop laughing / groping each other I managed to take some decent pictures:)  

Their wedding takes place later this year in Newchurch, Pendle and the reception will be held at the award winning Fence Gate Inn, Fence, near Burnley.

It going to be an epic wedding and I cant wait!
